At King Street Primary we believe that children should be contributing to the development and delivery of their school environment and curriculum enrichment. They should have opportunities to contribute to the local community and environmental issues.
Children in Year 5 are given the opportunity to be 'pupil leaders', to work alongside senior leaders, discussing issues with the rest of the school and helping to make choices across a range of areas. The groups cover discussions on the following:
- School development
- Eco and environment issues
- Community and fundraising
Action plans are created, shared with pupils across the school and chosen actions are supported by staff in school. Children across the school are kept up to date with developments and can continue to contribute through assemblies with pupil leaders in Year 5.
