Our Wonderful Governors

Governors

Meet Our Governors
Mrs Christine Parkinson

Chair of Governors

My name is Christine Parkinson and I am the Chair of the Governing body. My children previously came to this school and are now achieving success in their adult lives. I am passionate about quality of education and children being challenged to meet their potential. I believe every child should have aspirations to succeed and that schools should help identify and support talents across the curriculum. I liaise regularly with the Head Teacher and spend time in school with both teachers and staff to observe the wonderful things that take place and to share ideas for future developments.

Mrs Sarah Jackson

Vice Chair of Governors

My name is Sarah Jackson and I am Vice Chair of Governors. I have a strong understanding of the role education can play in a child's life and importance of developing both academic and life skills. I am a Primary Teacher myself and love seeing children grow and develop. Being a Governor allows me to be part of a different school environment where we can share ideas and ensure the best education possible. My own children attend King Street and I am proud of everything the school has helped them achieve.

Mrs Kate Luther

Co Opted Governor

My Name is Kate Luther and I am a parent governor. I have 2 children at King Street and as a new governor I am really looking forward to sharing ideas and helping to drive the school forward. I run a nursery of my own and have lots of experience around the education and support of young children so I hope to be able to help develop the new EYFS unit to make it an exceptional place for our children.

Mrs Naomi Livesley

Co-opted Governor

My name is Naomi Livesley and I am a Co opted Governor. I work a lot in the local community- particularly with the church, St Andrews. I hope to foster and develop the community spirit within the school and ensure that all families feel they have access to the services they may need. I am really enjoying being a governor and being part of a wonderful journey that has seen the school grow and grow.

Mrs Kirsty Flatman

Parent Governor

I am a registered mental health nurse and psychotherapist currently employed by the NHS as a Senior Therapist. I have worked in the local area for the NHS for over 15 years, and throughout this time have met many amazing and inspirational people who have been affected by anxiety or depression. I also undertake voluntary work for the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) where I am a committee member for Women and Gender Minorities Special Interest Group and have contributed to publications and press releases regarding domestic violence, working with Trans clients and raising awareness of pronouns. I am so happy to be able to support the school in their mission to provide an inclusive space, which allows children the ability to explore their own identities and to feel comfortable in their own skin.
The school already has fantastic pastoral care available to students, and I hope to be able to assist with delivery and development of this in order to provide children with the necessary skills to further build resilience and raise awareness of mental health issues and how to reduce stigma.

Mrs Patricia Monk

Co Opted Governor

Mrs Monk is a recently retired Head Teacher at a local Primary School, therefore, she has a good understanding of the local area and our families. Mrs Monk has a passion for primary education, raising attainment as well as giving children the best start in life, achieving positive outcomes and is keen to share her wealth of expertise with us.
